Bauta 6 by ~man-blu We frequently discuss the objectification of women, but a less mentioned topic is how we objectify men as well. This image makes you explores that concept - with his face hidden, you only look at his body, and not at the person beyond it. ( Featured by ^Nyx-Valentine )

the unusual point of view, that makes it even more impressive, I like how the shadows form the body very much.

I love this photo, and I adore the subject matter. Great job! I have a question though - where did you find that couch? I love it!

Well thank you kindly - glad you like the shot. As for the 'couch' - well that's the wonder of Ebay!

You're entirely too welcome! And if I'd known I could find a zebra striped chaise lounge on Ebay I would have gone on there years ago! :D

Can you explain how you feel about the apparent objectification of the male in modern society because I don't quite understand what you mean.

The female has been objectified almost since art began. So much so that 'she' lost her way & it took the suffragettes and feminist movement a lot of work to reclaim power for the woman. Rather than learning from this mistake we are now turning the male into an 'object' as well. Just look at the rise in body dysmorphia in young males leading to anorexia & bulimia. We should be empowering our youth (both male & female) rather than flooding their minds with unattainable imagery.
